About Customization

Learn how each customization option works so you can design the perfect bait for your fishing style.

Plastic Formula

Here at Diesel Baits LLC, we rely on Premium White Label and Black Label plastisol for its unmatched quality. White Label naturally floats and Black label naturally sinks. Our baits are shot in durometers between Drop shot and Craw formulas

Laminates

Laminates are shooting two colors into a single bait, typically in a top color/bottom color scheme. Not all molds can be shot effectively with two colors, it depends on the design of the mold. Some molds have Laminate plates, such as the Wasdamata Shad, Debug 4" and Da Beaver. The plate allows us to shoot one side at a time and produce a true laminate. Without the use of the plate there will be some blending but that typically produces a much more natural look, such as with the Super D Craw.

Color Shifts

We use color shift pigments From Dead on Plastix. These are powerful pigments that have very pronounced effects, especially on clear or translucent baits

Plastic Type

Choose between a naturally floating plastic and a naturally sinking plastic. This allows you to tailor your bait to the specific situation. For example, you may want to fish our King D on a C-Rig. In that situation, you desire high buoyancy. Maybe you want to fish the King D around grass mats and need it to slowly sink in the gaps? In that situation you may want to consider a sinking plastic and consider adding salt.

Clear Water

Baits that have less saturation tend to perform better on clear bodies of water. Essentially, we produce your bait with 50% of the standard formula color saturation which will greatly increase the translucency of the bait.

SALT

Salt added to baits has a host of effects. Primarily, it adds weight and density and small amount of "flavor" is released when a fish bites into a heavily salted bait. The downside of salt is durability. The more salt you have filled into a bait, the less room for plastic molecules to bond and the less durable that bait will become. Our standard Salt ratio when added is One TBSP per cup. Heavy salt is 2 TBSP per cup and Extreme Salt is 3 TBSP per cup

SCENT

All baits come scented unless requested otherwise with a presentation corresponding scent

BAIT FUEL

Bait Fuel is a pheromone based attractant that is not a scent. We believe in the efficacy of the product and use it ourselves. We can add it to your baits as well for a small fee.
